Texans are glowing with new hope for a vibrant 2020 summer camp season! On May 18, Governor Abbott announced the second phase of safely and strategically reopening the state by allowing Texas summer camps, youth sports, daycares, and bars to ramp up operations. Yes, COVID-19 has thrown a lot of wrenches into the works, but as Abbott said himself:
Getting to full capacity is the #1 priority for legions of camp owners and directors as we head into a much-needed summer camp season. And when it comes to driving registrations, you can’t beat free advertising.
The COVID-19 crisis has launched a temporary, socially-distanced way of life. Extra precautions at camp will be both wise and appreciated by your loyal families. But what if camp is delayed? What if on-site activities have to be canceled altogether?
Social media is a huge driver for summer camp enrollment. You can build a community, exchange photos and feedback with parents, and remind everyone that camp is on the way.
This pandemic has us all cooped up. It isn’t time for summer camp yet (darn it), but the best way to make sure all this social distancing saves our summer is to stay at home!
By the time the summer camp 2020 season arrives, many parents and children will have been cooped up in social distancing and self-isolation for months. The open-aired freedom of your program is a welcome dream for stir-crazy camp families. We all hope it can become a reality, too.
With the daily media coverage of COVID-19, camp families will naturally wonder how this will affect their lives in the coming months. Open communication from your camp is incredibly important at this time.
It’s not easy to be stuck at home—especially on weekdays when kids would normally be off at school, and parents would be getting stuff done. Social distancing due to COVID-19 has rocked that boat hard. We’re all stressed, worried about how long this will continue, and probably getting a little stir crazy.
