Friends of Waterfront
Waterfront Park is a well-known gathering space in the heart of Seattle. As the name suggests, it is a park located along the waterfront, but it might not be exactly what you’re thinking. Waterfront Park is known for hosting multiple group activities practically every day and the summer is no different. In fact, the summer is when it’s most active!
If you need to get your kids out of the house for a bit, the waterfront is the place to go. Everyday there’s something new. They have daily activities like soccer, chess, and connect 4 that are always available for playing. However, they also have specialty events almost every day that you can show up for! There’s Zumba, Hula Dancing, Learning Activities, even cultural lectures held at the waterfront. Almost every activity lasts at least 1 hour, most a little bit more. It’s a great place to just show up at and see what’s taking place. Most activities are also family friendly so if you don’t have the time to pre-check what’s going on, you can rest assured knowing that your active little ones are welcome!

Rain City Rock Camp for Girls
For the girls who just want to rock n roll, Rain City Rock Camp for Girls is the go-to summer camp in Seattle! They offer year-round music classes, but their summer camp is really where connections and friendships are formed. Their summer camp is for ages 8-17, but kids will be paired up with their appropriate peers. They’ll learn about music composition, theory, how to form bands, play their preferred instruments, practice, and perform. It’s the real deal! The camp breaks down everything your kids need to know about musicianship, collaborating, and finding their authentic voices.
These are one week summer day camps. At the end of the week, kids will have the opportunity to perform with their instrument or band mates. They can perform an original piece or a cover, but most students choose to perform an original piece! Black Diamond Camps in Seattle is what you think of when you hear the term “summer camp”. They offer overnight camps for campers of all ages. Pending your child’s comfort level, they can do 3-night, 4-night, or 5-night camps with kids of their own age. Each camp offers unique activities that are filled with laughs, smiles, and interactions that’ll last a lifetime. Kids get the chance to experience the great outdoors through camping, hiking, rock climbing, even archery!

Seattle Gymnastics Academy
Although not a traditional summer camp in Seattle, the Seattle Gymnastics Academy does offer summer classes for kids looking to get into gymnastics. They offer classes for ages 2-18 (some locations go up to 19 years old) in tumbling, trampoline, bar, and beam. All kids are placed in lessons with their age-appropriate peers. Most classes last at least one hour so it’s a great way to get your child out and about for a bit during the summer months.

The Seattle Drum School of Music is another music school in Seattle that offers day camps for kids. The summer camps are for ages 10-17 who have at least 1 year of experience with their preferred instrument (voice is considered an instrument). This school offers weekly summer day camps where kids get the chance to unleash their inner musician with band camp. They’ll be partnered with kids their own age and form their own bands. They’ll receive instruction with their instruments, learn how to have band practice, collaborate with their band members, and even perform an original piece at the end of the week!
